Attacked In Boston

I skated twice the morning of August 23, 2025.
The second time was my last, until November, after being hit from behind by another skater during the SkateBoston LobsterRoll event, with a bimalleolar fracture as a result.
A week later, I had surgery, with hardware, and recovered rapidly.

I was walking, back to work, and skating again, the first week of November, which amazes me to this day, even as I type this. (12-30-25)

This Was No Accident

A day or so after I returned from the emergency room, before I even knew I was going to be cut open, I had wondered if I was recording when I got hit, so I went through the footage, and discovered I did.

Once I saw what happened when I got hit, I knew immediately this was not an accident, and it confirmed what I had suspected all along:
It was an intentional cheap shot, and that’s exactly what I felt the moment he slammed into me.
Nothing else made any sense to me, and that was before I saw the footage.
That was no “slip and fall” on his part, and he enjoyed every second of it.
He was also long gone to join the rest of the group before I was ever off the ground.
(I never was)

The moment of breakage

Able to walk, work and skate one moment.

And just like that, life gets turned upside down for a couple of months.

The footage I had planned from that weekend, was going to be part of a bigger project I had in mind, but this changed everything.

It’s actually going to add to what I had planned, and in a very big way.
That video will come, eventually.

I don’t know who that guy is, or what his motive was, and I had never seen him before.
All I know is he came in from New York.

May he rest in hell when his time comes.
